Golaghat : Assam’s award-novelist and story writer, Tulika Saikia breathed her last on April 29th owing to prolonged illness.
Born in 1977, Tulika Saikia, bagged the coveted ‘Munin Barkotoki Literary Award’ for her novel, Charixal Gosanir Tez in the year 2014.
Tulika Saikia’s passing away has left a void in the literary world. Many among her pears are mourning her death who was working as a full time teacher at Kushal Konwar Balya Bhawan School.

The novelist has left many of her works unpublished. Tulika Saikia was a notable writer whose dynamic literary knowledge and write ups had notably made her a renowned name in the Assamese literary world. Her works have been well appreciated who expanded her literary works in the sublime Assamese history and socio-cultural aspects.

Tulika Saikia hailed from Golaghat district of Assam who has many novels and stories to her credit. The Assamese literary society along with bibliophiles is deeply saddened by her demise who has been facing acute kidney ailment for a very long time.
Saikia is survived by her husband and her only daughter.
