Guwahati: The Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur on Wednesday announced that Bangladesh is planning to hold a two day film festival in Guwahati early next year.
The proposed film festival is planned to be held in association with Jyoti Chitraban film studio as said by Monsur at the closing ceremony of the 3rd Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) on November 6, 2019.
Monsur further stated that since they are planning a two day festival, they are thinking of screening 5-6 best Bangladeshi films. Two Bangladeshi films were screened in the 3rd GIFF in the presence of their directors and star cast.
The Bangladeshi Government, after seeing the success of GIFF, is now in discussion with various stakeholders and the event will be finalised in the coming days. Monsur also announced that Bangladesh is planning to have an Assamese film festival in Dhaka very soon.
