A troop of Bihu singers and musicians were misbehaved and physically assaulted by the organizers in North Guwahati on Monday.
As per the musicians, the members of North Guwahati Dihing Sattra Rongali Bihu Organizing Committee humiliated the Bihu troop of popular singers Tana Devraj and Sumi Kalita by holding up their payments and further manhandled some of the musicians while damaging their music instruments.
Singer Sumi Kalita alleged that they performed for the entire night at the Rongali Bihu function organized by North Guwahati Dihing Sattra Rongali Bihu Organizing Committee, but during the early hours on Sunday when the program ended and they were supposed to get their payments, organizing secretary Moni Das started misbehaving with them saying they will not get any payments.
When the performing party asked for their payments, the organizing Committee started hurling abuses on the singer and also manhandled the musicians. The fracas went out of control when the organizing committee members damaged the music instruments too.
