Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party’s MP from Tezpur, RP Sharma’s wife has reportedly filed a petition in the court seeking interim bail for her arrested APS officer daughter Pallavi Sharma.
Along with Pallavi, nineteen Assam government officers were arrested on July 18 as their handwriting did not match with that in their answer sheets in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) examination held in 2016.
MP RP Sharma’s wife appealed for interim bail so as to facilitate the renal transplant surgery of her husband scheduled on July 30. Pallabi was supposed to donate one of her kidney to her father.
Soon after her arrest, Pallavi had filed a bail application but the court rejected the bail plea. Special Public Prosecutor BK Mahajan stated that she was denied any relief which she sought citing her father’s medical condition as the Court was of the opinion that the accused could not submit relevant documents to that effect.
Along with Pallavi, the other five whose bail applications were turned down by the court are Barnali Das, Saibur Rahman Borbhuyan, Rituraj Neog, Leena Krishna Kakoty and Gulshan Daulagopu.
Refusing to “bow down” against the conspiracy”, senior Sharma stated that he will prove his arrested daughter’s innocence in the court.
The MP said that he will challenge Dibrugarh Police in the court and will prove his daughter’s innocence with proofs.
