Guwahati : BJP election candidate and former Guwahati Mayor Queen Oja cast her vote for the final phase polls in Assam from the Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency. While casting her vote, she expressed confidence of winning the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat.
Oja queues along with other voters at the polling booth in the Lachit Nagar LP School and was the first one to cast her ballot. Oja is pitted against Congress’ Bobbeeta Sharma.
While addressing to the media, Queen Oja said, “People have been seen the growth and development ushered in by the BJP government at the Centre and in Assam and hence they will vote for me,”
The highest number of nominations for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections has been filed for the Gauhati constituency. A total of 17 candidates, including six independent candidates are contesting for the Gauhati seat.
Apart from Bobbeeta Sharma, Queen Oja two other are in the fray for the Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency. Independent candidates Upamanyu Hazarika and Junmoni Devi Khaund are also in the fray for the elections from the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat
