Digital Desk: On Wednesday, a Royal Bengal tiger had to be sedated and captured near Keribakari in the Jakhalabandha, Kaliabor area after the animal had lost one eye while being attacked by a poacher. The case has united everyone who would like to protect and preserve the forest and other officials. The Salna Northern Forest Range Officer and the Forest Protection Committee have filed a police complaint in the Jakhalabandha police station.
Wednesday, when the disoriented tiger was spotted struggling to swim across the Kolong River. A mob of enraged locals attacked the helpless animal with stones, sticks, and other objects. In this tragic case, a furious group of people surrounded the poor creature and, fueled by anger, pelted it with stones, sticks, and other things.
Sadly, the injured animal with one of its eyes gouged out, and now the tiger will live out the rest of its life in captivity. Presently, being treated in the CWRC (Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation) in Panbari, Kaziranga, this magnificent animal has never and will never again rule the forests.
The protracted and tragic event has touched all lovers of wildlife, who are clamoring for justice for the tiger that was injured. This is where the police will respond to the above complaint and as the clamor for accountability intensifies. The famous symbol of the king of the Jungle might have to live in captivity now and forever and will depend on people, their hearts, and superficiality, which made the pugmark cover its last.
