Charaideo : A minor girl, who had went missing yesterday evening, was traced by Charaideo Police and united her with her family. It can be a called as a great Mother’s day gift as the minor girl was recovered and united with her mother within three hours of her missing.
At around 7 pm on May 11th, 2019 a patrolling team spotted a eight year old girl crying near Cheni Godam area of Sonari. On being asked, the girl told the patrolling tea that she reached Cheni Godam in a potato carrying van. As the girl was not able to share her home address, the district police immediately swung into action and launched an operation.
“We got in touch with other police stations to inquire if someone has been reported missing recently. The operation was led by Inspector Dipanto Phukan, Officer-in-charge, Sonari Police Station,” said Anand Mishra, Superintendent of Police, Charaideo.
“We received our first lead when one of our team members came across inputs of a missing girl from Moranhat. We immediately got in touch with Moranhat Police and located her parents at Petua Dollong. The girl also told us that if she is taken to that place, she will be able to locate her house. After an hour, she was reunited with her family. The operation was completed within three hours,” Mishra added.
