Jatiya Nayak: CM Sarbananda Sonowal
The incident came in the wake of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 which has already triggered an intense reaction among the public where hundreds of organizations along with the common public coming from varied backgrounds have opposed the bill submitting memorandums to the JPC on Monday and at the same time questioning CM Sonowal’s stand on the Bill where recently Sonowal came across stiff opposition against the Citizenship Bill in Bangalore during an interaction session with the Assamese diaspora in the city.
The interactive session was though canceled as the CM found it unsuitable to continue the session without commenting on the whole issue.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister would be felicitating the UPSC students from Assam who had passed the entrance exam with flying colors today at the University at around 4pm.
