In a new development witnessed in Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s newly expanded government, new seven ministers are being recruited in the party. Out of all the seven recruited, five will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party while one each will be from its allies, the Asom Gana Parishad and Bodoland People’s Front.
The new ministers inducted in the CM Sarbananda Sonowal’s ministry are Sonari MLA Tapan Kumar Gogoi (BJP), Jagiroad MLA Piyush Hazarika (BJP), Gauhati East MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya (BJP), Rangiya MLA Bhabesh Kalita (BJP) and Diphu MLA Sum Rongkhong (BJP).
The remaining two non-BJP allies are Sidli (ST) MLA Chandan Brahma of BPF and Bongaigaon MLA Phani Bhusan Choudhary of AGP.
Among these ministers, four will be sworn in as cabinet minister while three will be sworn in as minister of state.
According to sources, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Chandan Brahma (BPF) and Phani Bhushan Choudhari (AGP) will get the ‘cabinet minister’ designation whereas Bhabesh Kalita, Tapan Gogoi, Sum Rongkhong and Piyush Hazarika (all from BJP) will get the ‘state minister’ designation.
The government has already brought seven brand new Toyota Innova cars what will be deployed for the service of the newly appointed ministers.
