Guwahati : Congress MP from Assam and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh announced his resignation from the party giving yet another massive blow to the Congress party.
Sanjay Singh will join BJP Party on July 31st, 2019 as per latest information.
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu accepted the resignation of Sanjay Singh. Sanjay Singh is an MP from Assam who was elected to the Rahya Sabha in April 2014. His tenure was to get over in the year 2020. He stated the reason behind his resignation was due to “zero leadership” in the Congress party.
Singh was elected twice to the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh during the 1980’s and held state ministerial posts. In 1990, he became a member of the Upper House and in 1998 he was elected to the Lok Sabha.
In 2009, he was successful in obtaining a second term as a member of the 15th Lok Sabha representing the Sultanpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh.
