    The notification announcing the schedule stated, "I, the undersigned Madhusudan Mistry, Chairman, CEA, pursuant to the power vested in me by the provision of Article XVIII of the Constitution of Indian National Congress, hereby announced that the Election of the President of Indian National Congress will be held as per the schedule appended below."

    Nominations for the position of thesident must be submitted between September 24 and September 30, according to a notice issued by Mistry.

    On October 8, at 5:00 p.m., the complete list of candidates will be made public.

    Mistry has urged the Congress party's delegates to choose the president of the Indian National Congress in accordance with the guidelines established by Article 18.

    Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, and Shashi Tharoor, a congressman, have so far indicated that they are willing to run for the party's top office.

    But ahead of the party's organisational elections, party leader Digvijay Singh, who arrived in Delhi today, is scheduled to meet with interim party boss Sonia Gandhi.
