It may be mentioned that this year, during the convocation ceremony, around 29,526 students will be conferred degrees by the Chancellor.
Digital Desk: The 20th convocation ceremony of Dibrugarh University is being held today (June 28). The Governor of Assam and the Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Prof Jagdish Mukhi, are presiding over the function.
Dr. G Narahari Sastry, Director, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, is also present as the function's chief guest.
Meanwhile, in the convocation ceremony, degrees will be conferred to the successful students who have passed out from the Dibrugarh University in different academic programs by Professor Jagdish Mukhi, Assam Governor and Chancellor of Dibrugarh University.
Dr Lakhyahira Das, an eminent academic, singer, and lyricist, will be awarded D.Litt. (Honoris Causa), and Dr Jagadish Mahanta, former Director of ICMR-RMRC, Lahoal, and eminent scientist, will be awarded D.Sc. at the convocation ceremony.
It may be mentioned that this year, during the convocation ceremony, around 29,526 students will be conferred degrees by the Chancellor.
Notably, the ceremony will confer degrees on 188 Ph.D. scholars, 172 M.Phil. scholars, 3,779 post-graduate students, and 25,387 undergraduate students.
