Dhemaji : Just two days post the inauguration of the country’s longest rail cum road Bogibeel Bridge in Assam, visitors visiting the bridge have already made a mess of the bridge with spit spots, food wrappers, cold drink cans littered all around.
Many people who have unconsciously dropped garbage and food packets on the Bridge turning into a littered flyover. With spit spots, garbage packets, food wrappers, the newly inaugurated bridge has lots its sheen already.
The way the bridge was littered within hours of being opened for the public, visitors have already turned the country’s longest rail cum road bridge into a long trail of dumping area.
At the peak of tourism season in Assam, the Bogibeel Bridge is going to be the considered as the most iconic tourist spot currently, but looking at the condition of the bridge which has turned into a littered ground, the bridge will be less considered as a tourist spot and it is shameful for all of us that even after being called as the civilized citizens of this country, we couldn’t maintain the dignity of being called “Civilized”.
A visitor also made a comment that the government is taking all measures of development and working for the country’s progress, it is the unconscious and uncivilized public who is degrading their own property and are less concerned about the nation’s property sighting their behaviour.
The construction of the Bogibeel Bridge has opened a new horizon in the North east with the communication becoming more easy and quick. After many years of waiting, the Bogibeel Bridge, constructed over the Brahmaputra river between Dhemaji and Dibrugarh districts, will aid both rail and road transportation for the people of the state.
