    Dispur Police Arrested Escort Driver In Youth’s Death Incident

    Dispur police apprehended Lance Naik Prakash Sharma in connection with the collision involving a VVIP Escort vehicle.


    Digital Desk: In a significant development, the Dispur Police have filed a case against the driver of the VVIP Escort car that was involved in the fatal collision that claimed the life of a young person in Six Mile, Guwahati. On Thursday, GP Singh, the Director General of Police (DGP) for Assam, provided this information.

     

    GP Singh informed, “The Bolero Vehicle involved in the accident has been seized for further investigation. Process under MACT is also being expedited.”

     

    Dispur police apprehended Lance Naik Prakash Sharma in connection with the collision involving a VVIP Escort vehicle. The crash, which occurred in Six Mile, Guwahati, claimed the life of Rupamjyoti Bora on Sunday. Following the collision, Prakash Sharma, who was driving the last car in the convoy conveying VVIP from Jorhat to Guwahati, left the scene.

     

    The arrest is based on Dispur police station's case number 198/24. The incident unfolded when a bike unexpectedly crossed paths with the convoy, prompting Prakash Sharma's Escort vehicle to collide after losing control. In a recorded statement, Lance Naik Prakash Sharma, a member of Assam Police's Special Cell, confessed to the accident in front of the camera.

     

    The tragic event underscores the consequences of the collision, resulting in the loss of life within the VVIP Escort convoy. The legal proceedings will now follow as Dispur police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, as stated by GP Singh.
