Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister made Diwali more festive for all government employees by giving a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance. It is applicable to all state government employees as well as All India service officials. The increase in DA will take effect on July 1, but will be paid with this month's salary.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Happy to announce 4% additional Dearness Allowance for State Govt employees/All India Service Officers w.e.f. July 1, 2022, payable with this month’s salary. Hope this will add to the festive flavour. Also extending my good wishes for an auspicious and happy Deepawali!"
Meanwhile, the Haryana government also gave its employees a Diwali bonus by increasing the Dearness Allowance from 34% to 38%. The finance division of the state government raised the DA for public employees by 4% in accordance with the 7th Pay Commission structure. Haryana government employees will receive their revised DA pay in October 2022, as the revised DA is effective July 1, 2022.
"Enhanced DR shall be paid with the pension/family pension of October 2022 and arrears for the months of July 2022 to September 2022 (3 months) shall be paid in the month of November 2022 The payment on account of Dearness Relief involving fractions of 50 paise and above may be rounded to the next higher rupee and the fractions of less than 50 paise may be ignored," Office order reads,
Along with these, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand are among the few states that have increased DA ahead of Diwali.
