    Drugs Worth Rs 100 Crore Burned by Police in Assam Include 935 kg




     Digital Desk: On Saturday, Guwahati Police burned down 935 kg of drugs
    that had been found at Hatishila Daampara, a police station in Pragjyotishpur
    on the outskirts of the city, as part of a huge drug disposal operation.



    According to authorities, a sizeable quantity of heroin, cannabis, and
    raw methamphetamine were among the substances burned.



    More than 3.70
    lakh bottles of cough syrup and more than 19 lakh meth tablets were burned and
    disposed of.



    These were gathered
    in recent times through various raids and seizures.



    Harmeet Singh,
    Special DGP and Commissioner of Police in Guwahati, and Partha Sarathi Mahanta,
    Joint Commissioner of Police in Guwahati, lighted the narcotic pyre.



    The Chief
    Minister's Institutional Plantation Program's planting of trees by the
    Commissioner of Police, JCP, and other top city police officers coincided with
    a plantation campaign.



    On this occasion,
    the Deputy Commissioners of Police were also present.



    Police Commissioner Harmeet Singh stated, "The Chief Minister
    of Assam has made it plain that this war on drugs must be waged till all
    drug-related problems have been resolved. I want to take this chance to
    reiterate our unwavering commitment to the war on drugs and the fact that no
    one involved in the drug trade will be spared. Anyone involved in the drug
    trade will face severe judicial consequences."
