    Drugs worth Rs 3 crore confiscated in Morigaon, Assam

    According to Moon Prakash Tiwari, Officer-in-Charge of Jagiroad Police Station, the police team seized 309 grammes of drugs during the investigation.


    Digital Desk: On Sunday, police in Assam's Morigaon area detained three people and confiscated drugs worth around Rs 3 crore.


    Based on confidential information, a Morigaon district police squad set up a Naka checkpoint in the Jagiroad Silbhanga area and apprehended a motorbike.


    According to Moon Prakash Tiwari, Officer-in-Charge of Jagiroad Police Station, the police team seized 309 grammes of drugs during the investigation.

    "The market value of the confiscated pharmaceuticals is believed to be in the range of Rs 2.5 to 3 crore. Three people were detained, and one motorbike and three mobile phones were seized," Moon Prakash Tiwari said.


    The suspects have been identified as Zakir Hussain, Saddam Hussain, and Sahidul Islam. 


    Recently, a man accused of trafficking ganja was injured in police fire as he reportedly tried to seize a police officer's service weapon and escape from detention in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Thursday, according to a senior official.


    According to the information supplied by the accused, who was apprehended earlier that day, the police were conducting a search operation for the consignments in an area under Bishmuri outpost on Wednesday night.
