    Digital Desk: According
    to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), which is part of the ministry of
    earth sciences, Manipur experienced a minor earthquake on Monday morning with a
    magnitude of 3.5.



     



    The epicentre of the
    earthquake, which was reported to be on the south side of the Kamjong district
    and adjacent to the state capital Imphal, struck around 10:06 am.

    magnitude: 3.5, Occurred on 11-07-2022, 10:06:56 IST, Lat: 24.80 & Long:
    94.43, Depth: 10 Km, Kamjong, Manipur, India, according to a tweet from the NCS
    on Monday.



     



    There were earthquakes
    felt by residents of neighbouring districts as well. Thankfully, there were no
    reports of property damage or fatalities in Kamjong or other areas of the
    state.



     



    The Ukhrul district of Manipur was hit by an earthquake
    measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale on July 26 of last year.



     Eight people are killed and numerous properties are damaged
    in the powerful 6.7-magnitude earthquake that strikes the northeastern state on
    January 4, 2016, including Imphal's famous "Ima keithel" (mother's
    market).
