Guwahati : Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) adviser Akhil Gogoi on April 7th, 2019 dared Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to prove allegations of taking money from the opposition parties in Assam to work against the ruling party.
Former finance secretary of Satra Multi Sangram Samiti Hiranya Pathari has accused Gogoi of taking Rs 3 crore from the Congress and Rs 1 crore from AIUDF leader Maulana Badruddin Ajmal to work against the ruling party.
Pathari whp joined the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) on April 6th, 2019 claimed that Gogoi had taken Rs 3 crore from the Congress to oppose the BJP and work for the victory of the Congress candidates. Pathari had earlier staged black flag protest against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Addressing a press meet here Gogoi said, “I dare Sonowal to prove the allegations against me of taking money, possessing assets. I want proofs with documents. If Sonowal succeeds in proving the allegations, I am ready to give up my decade long social work.”
Pathari also alleged that Gogoi worked as a mediator between AIUDF and Congress over the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
