Gaurav Gogoi Hits Back at CM Sarma with PM Modi's 2015 Lahore Visit
Gogoi said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LK Advani visited Pakistan.

Digital Desk: Congress leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Gaurav Gogoi hit back at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday.

Gogoi said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LK Advani visited Pakistan.

Countering CM Sarma's allegations of his ISI links, Gogoi said that PM Modi visited Lahore in 2015 to attend the birthday celebration of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani visited Pakistan in 2005 and offered a 'chadar' at the grave of Pakistan's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Gogoi added.

He also said that former External Affairs and Finance Minister late Jaswant Singh wrote a book on Jinnah, titled "Jinnah: India-Partition-Independence".

A Pakistani team, which had an ISI officer, was invited to conduct an inquiry into the Pathankot air base terror attack by the Modi government, Gogoi said.

Slamming the Assam chief minister, Gaurav Gogoi said that Sarma has a habit of telling thousands of lies as he did not give details of his own Bangladesh visit.

He also said that he is ready for any probe by the SIT and the Assam Government for his wife Elizabeth Colburn's alleged link to ISI.
