Guwahati/New Delhi : Speaking on the city development issue of Guwahati, newly elected BJP MP from Assam Queen Oja raised the question in Lok Sabha whether the centre is considering any steps to make Guwahati a smart city. Raising question in the Lok Sabha, MP Queen Oja asked the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development that the step taken to make Guwahati into a smart city is just in papers, but in reality no steps have been taken yet to make this initiative into a reality.
The Centre is taking no productive action to fulfill the dreams of the Guwahatians as the city waits a makeover. Reports are also falling as the bridge that was to be constructed over Brahmaputra River joining Narengi and Kuruwa will remain a dream now.
There are many such projects that are lying incomplete such as the optical fibre communication, water ATM, development of the Gandhi Mandap area, LED streetlights, etc which needs immediate attention as they issue remain vacuum with no positive stand taken by the centre.
