The demonstration was led by Ripun Bora, state president of the TMC. The workers were protesting against Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, for neglecting the suffering of residents in the flood-affected state and concentrating on overthrowing the Maharashtra administration instead.

Digital Desk: Assam police have detained the leaders and workers of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) who staged a massive protest outside the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati on Thursday.

The TMC leaders demonstrated in front of the Radisson Blu Hotel, where dissident MLAs from Maharashtra are currently residing, including Eknath Shinde of the Shiv Sena.

The demonstration was led by Ripun Bora, state president of the TMC. The workers were protesting against Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, for neglecting the suffering of residents in the flood-affected state and concentrating on overthrowing the Maharashtra administration instead.

One of the party members stated, "Around 20 Lakh people in Assam are suffering due to the floods." However, the state's chief minister is working to overthrow the Maharashtra government.

Ashok Singhal, a minister in the Assam Cabinet, had checked into the Radisson Blu earlier today. Hardip Singh, the Assam ADGP, arrived at the opulent five-star hotel on Thursday to assess the security measures.

Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, three more Shiv Sena MLAs joined the rebel group of MLAs led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde in Guwahati.

Notably, reports further claimed that the National Students Union of India (NSUI) also staged a protest outside the hotel where dissident MLAs from Maharashtra have been stationed.
