Digital Desk: Hundreds of people marched to the streets of Nagaland's Dimapur on Friday, demanding an early solution to the Naga peace accord.

A memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requesting an immediate resolution to the "Naga political crisis without further delay" was handed to local authorities by the Nagaland People's Action Committee (NPAC), which organized the rallies.

The memorandum, sent through Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi, stated that the state is in the 25th year of political negotiations between the Union government and Naga negotiators.

"The entire process has taken a significant toll on the entire system of government.  The unsolved political issue has brought in an unthinkable spiral of corruption at all levels, undermining public health care, education, and general infrastructural projects," the memorandum stated.

"In the name of political issues, threats and intimidation have hampered the establishment of a perceived Naga society, which you (PM) assured would be a thriving one," it added.

The memorandum further stated that the state's unemployment and corruption have increased as a result of the Naga peace process's delay.

Various Naga organizations and civil society bodies either participated or supported the public rally.
