The weather service further stated that during the course of the next five days, sporadic rainfall is anticipated to occur over the plains of Northwest India and over Central India.

The southern states of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and south interior Karnataka are predicted to see fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rains and thunderstorms or lightning during the course of the next five days, according to the IMD's most recent weather forecast.

According to the MET office, heavy downpours are also expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir on September 4, Himachal Pradesh on September 4, and Uttarakhand through September 5.
