Guwahati: The state authorities have declared Kaziranga National Park open for tourists from today. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will officially reopen the park for 2019-20 season.
The Jeep Safari will be open for tourists but the elephant safari has been stalled for the tourists for the moment until further notice from the state authorities. The authorities of Kaziranga National Park also informed that the tourists will be able to visit upto permissible area as the pathways are not in good condition due to the bad weather.
DFO Rohini Ballav Saikia said that they will open the park for tourists coming to visit the park in this season. The park was scheduled to reopen on October 1, but it was postponed till today as the recent flood had destroyed all the roads along with watchtowers in the park.
