There have been allegations flying among the section of people in Kokrajhar district of Assam that people were being harassed in the name of NRC.
“The UPPL opposes such unnecessary act of harassment and appeals all sections to desist from misusing the right to objection. We demand early finalization of correct NRC so that such human crisis comes to an end as early as possible. The party also reaffirms its stand to help genuine Indian Citizen,” said Brahma.
Brahma further alleged that “some people with vested interest are circulating misinformation by dragging the name of UPPL in the conspiracy of harassing people by lodging false complaint.”
It may be mentioned that the Congress has submitted a memorandum to the Kokrajhar District Registrar of Citizen’s Registration. The Congress alleged that minorities were being harassed in the name of the NRC even after due verification of their documents.
