Silchar : To the horror of the people as well as the employees present inside United Bank of India (UBI) Tarapur branch in Silchar, a man created sensation in the premises of the bank branch after he entered carrying a sword and iron bar only to get his passbook printed on January 23rd, 2019.
Man enters bank premises with sword and iron bar in hand
As per media reports, the man identified as Dayamay Das (35), is a resident of Ashram road in Silchar.
Sanjaypada Das, who is a single window official of the bank as well the in-charge of printing passbooks, told media that the man in question entered carrying a sharp sword and iron bar who was in the queue and asked him to print his torn passbook or else he will chop him off.

Somehow the employee raised an alarm by ringing the emergency bell and called in the police.
The employee also stated that the sword man had recently transferred his account from Meherpur branch to Tarapur branch.

Later, when the police arrived, the man was taken into custody. Apart from lodging an FIR, the bank officials informed the police that the accused customer had vandalized the bank premises by damaging the printer and other valuable belongings.
