Kokrajhar: On Monday, thousands of people were seen in a huge gathering in Kokrajhar, demanding an immediate solution of Bodoland imbroglio. It was held under the joint support of ABSU, NDFB (P) and People’s Joint Action Committee of Bodoland Movement (PJACBM).
Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma said it was unfortunate that the negligence of the Centre led to a protest by the movement groups who are demanding new states. He added that the government has been systematically delaying the creation of new states in India.
The chief convenor of the PJACBM Rakesh Boro addressed the gathering and said the movement of new states will be continuing until the government fulfils it. He questioned as to why the Centre has not created Bodoland yet if the same has already created union territory of Ladakh and J&K and Telangana state.
General Secretary of NDFB (P) S. Sanjarang said the Bodoland movement is a movement of Historical Justice to the Indigenous Bodo people, the Son of the Soils and it is to protect the dignity and identity of the Sons and daughters in their ancestral land.
