Meet The Incredible Dhubri Woman Paving The Way For Mushroom Farming
Mandal has extended her gratitude to the government's efforts on the development of women, emphasising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives to take up entrepreneurial ventures.

Digital Desk: Assam, a northeastern state deeply rooted in its agricultural heritage, has a force behind the state's abundant harvests - the women of rural Assam. Tapasi Mandal, a resident of a remote village of Jinkata Part-I on the Assam-West Bengal border in Dhubri has been an inspiration for many. She has been engaged in mushroom farming for two years, which provides her financial independence and livelihood.

Tapasi Mandal started her mushroom farming after receiving a loan of Rs 2 lakh from the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme in 2024, which enables her to regularly produce around 20-25 kilograms of mushrooms.

Mandal has extended her gratitude to the government's efforts on the development of women, emphasising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives to take up entrepreneurial ventures.

She has been working hard and expanding her business to a variety of food items, including sweets, pickles, biscuits, bhujia, and nimki. These food items are made from mushrooms cultivated on her farm.
