A body of a minor girl with multiple injury marks was recovered from her own house on Monday.
The 12 year old girl from Baksa was found dead triggering a sensation in the district. However, the family members of the victim alleged that she was raped and murdered.
The incident took place at one Lalit Boral’s house in Oubari village, Goreswar. Vegetable-seller Boral, accompanied by his wife went to the Bangalipara evening market leaving behind their daughter and son at home. The victim’s brother, however, had gone out to play cricket in a nearby field when the incident occurred, said the locals.
Wrapping up the day’s work, when Boral reached home with his wife, he was shocked and shattered to find his daughter dead on the floor in a pool of blood.
Initially, the family suspected the girl might have committed suicide but when they saw the body with deep injury marks, then they suspected it to be a game of foul play and immediately informed the police about the same.
The parents claimed that since there was no one in the house, some miscreants might have taken the advantage, barged into the house and raped her. To avoid detection, the miscreants murdered her, said the grieved parents.
A police team, led by Deepak Sharma, had visited the spot to take stock of the situation and also initiated an investigation into the matter.
