Guwahati: After the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya dispute yesterday, a forum of 21 organizations representing “indigenous” Muslims in Assam announced to donate Rs 5 lakhs for the Ram Mandir construction. The coordination forum of the 21 organizations is Janagosthiya Samannay Parishad, Assam.
Mominul Awal, who is the chief of the Parishad and chairman of the Minorities Development Board said that the money will be donated to the trust which will construct the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
On the other hand, in a statement issued by the All Assam Goriya Moriya Yuva Chatra Parishad, they said that they welcomed the verdict of the Supreme Court and their organization will provide Rs 1 lakh for the construction of the temple.
On Friday, Assam State Jamiat Ulama (ASJU), which is headed by Badruddin Ajmal asked the state government to impose a temporary ban on social media to prevent communal chaos after the Supreme Court’s verdict.
