Nagaon’s Assam Police Constable threatened by Islamic radical organisation
Assam Police constable Nazrul Islam from Nagaon complained against a suspected illegal Bangladeshi family, settled along Nagaon town’s Chilongi area, he has been allegedly attacked by a group of armed “criminals from a radical organisation” on June 6, as per reports.
Assam Police constable Nazrul Islam stated that he had received a “threat letter” in the month of February from ‘Team B Mujahedeen Asom’- an Islamic radical organisation. In the letter, Nazrul mentioned that the radical organisation “warned” him not to “harass the family of Miya Hussain in Chilongi in the name of being illegal Bangladeshi and also not to complain against this family”, as per reports.

Nazrul also mentioned, the organisation further warned him not to “complain to Hojai’s BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev regarding Miya Hussain’s family”.
On Wednesday, Nazrul claimed that a group of miscreants stopped his motorbike midway, while he was returning back to Nagaon from his village, forcefully locked him in a vehicle and took him to an “unknown place”. Nazrul claimed that he was beaten up by his abductors before being drugged.
On Friday, Nazrul also stated that even after informing Nagaon police about the “threat letter” no action or investigation was initiated.
