Guwahati: After the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks yesterday on implementing the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in West Bengal, the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) organized a press meet today. Firing a salvo on the BJP government, the KMSS chief condemned the autocratic rule of the ruling party. Gogoi also voiced his apprehension that the Bill is most likely to be placed in the upcoming autumn session of the Lok Sabha and this time there will be none to stop the ruling BJP to pass the same in both houses of Parliament.
Since the Home Minister and RSS activists are in support of this bill, therefore the way to stop its implementation is nearly impossible as per the KMSS leader. Gogoi called out for a total resistance against its implementation irrespective of party affiliations and ideologies and thereby defeat the ruling party’s ulterior motive.
The contentious CAB will have voracious repercussions on both side of the Brahmaputra valley where almost 1.70 crore of Hindu Bangladeshis will get a free pass to enter Assam and Tripura after the amendment of the controversial bill, he cautioned further. Akhil Gogoi also commented that the BJP has killed the values of Mahatma Gandhi by enforcing religious disparities.
