Chirang: Security personnel in Chirang district nabbed one NDFB (S) cadre on Thursday evening after inputs from an inside source. The operation was launched on November 7 based on specific intelligence about the movement of some NDFB cadres in General Sukentaklai river near Bhutan border.
The NDFB (National Democratic Front of Bodoland) cadre was nabbed in a joint operation launched by the Indian army and Chirang Police. At the end of the successful op, the team had apprehended one NDFB cadre, who has been identified as Philimon Narzary, a resident of Amguri, Sophisticated weapons as well as ammunition were recovered from the NDFB (S) cadre.
Security forces have been continuing with their efforts to stop the growing cases of extortion, kidnapping in Chirang district due to high alertness and swift action on their part. This is a major setback to the militant group and has dealt severe blow after security forces nabbed many dreaded NDFB (S) cadre from the region thus weakening the backbone of the militant group.
