The 'Nilachal Flyover' inaugurated in Maligaon today by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma
The inauguration comes as good news for Guwahati commuters who have been experiencing substantial traffic congestion...

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma opened the long-awaited 'Nilachal Flyover' at Maligaon on 30 August.

The opening comes as a relief to travellers in Guwahati, who have been experiencing major traffic jams on the Bharalumukh-Jalukbari stretch of road due to continuing building work for the flyover.

Earlier, Assam chief minister Sarma told the media that the flyover's name will be the "Maligaon flyover" during a visit to the construction site.

Later, on this flyover, an entry board with the words 'Maligaon Flyover' was put. However, the board was modified and it was named 'Nilachal Flyover' last night.

A day before the inauguration, CM Sarma posted a video on the 'X' platform with the statement, "Tomorrow, we will be dedicating Assam's longest flyover to the people."

The Maligaon flyover, Guwahati's latest architectural masterpiece, will feature a rainbow arch and a globe at Tiniali Junction.
