Digital Desk: In a decisive breakthrough under Operation PRAGHAT, aimed at dismantling fundamentalist networks and Global Terrorist Organizations (GTO), the Special Task Force (STF) Assam, with assistance from Kokrajhar Police, has apprehended a key operative involved in extremist activities.
The STF executed precise intelligence by arresting Nasim Uddin SK from Kokrajhar District during its initial period of 3rd February. The terrorist Nasim Uddin SK belongs to two major militant groups Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JAM). Additionally he works as an active force with prime suspect Nur Islam Mandal who spent prior time under arrest for extremist crimes. The accused operative Nasim Uddin SK ran from police authorities starting on 17th December , 2024 until his arrest.
Criminal investigations show that the arrested operative served as a key figure who obtained weapons along with building IEDs to supply arms to extremist groups. The arrested terrorist targeted India's national security framework in order to endanger the country's independence. The recent arrest creates an important milestone in the campaign to reduce radical networks that generate social chaos.
The accused faces legal charges under several IPC sections together with UA(P) Act provisions and charges from Passport Act and Explosives Act and Arms Act and Foreigners Act based on STF PS Case No. 21/2024. The judicial proceedings led to formal remand of the defendant to seven days in police detention.
