    Portable Device ‘SAANS’ to be used to Stop Neonatal Deaths in Assam

    of a pilot project to reduce neonatal mortality with specialized equipment, or
    "SAANS," authorities said on Thursday that the Assam government has
    decided to use the air pressure machine created by a Bangalore-based start-up
    across its hospitals.



    color:black;mso-themecolor:text1">With the portable neonatal Continuous
    Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) device "SAANS," infants can receive
    essential breathing assistance both in a hospital setting and when travelling.

    firm InnAccel Technologies, during pilot research on a small sample of babies
    at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, the gadget produced "great
    outcomes."

    InnAccel
    Technologies, which was incubated at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms
    (C-CAMP), worked with the SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Finance Facility to
    develop the device in order to boost respiratory assistance for babies and
    pediatric populations in Assam.
