Shillong/Baihata: In a typical Bollywood movie style, Assam Police tracked down a stolen car along with the thieves in just 57 minutes of it’s reporting. Thanks to social media whose power is fast turning many delayed work in a much faster pace.

The Assam Police on April 11th, 2019 tracked down a stolen car after its owner reached out to the state police on the popular micro-blogging site Twitter.
Two people had hired a car from Shillong. The persons assaulted the driver and fled with the car near Baihata Chariali. The owner of the car, Sumit bajoria approached the Assam Police via twitter. Assam Police sprang into action and it’s social media team coordinated with the officer-in-charge of the Baihata Police Station. The Kamrup Police chased and recovered the car in a “Bollywood-style” chase in just 57 minutes. The two persons involved in the theft were also nabbed and taken into custody by the Assam police.
