    Reliance Industries to Invest Rs 50,000 Crores in Assam
    Assam's famous silk Industry, has the potential to grow manifold in generation of incomes and jobs.

    Digital Desk: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) intends to construct a seven-star Oberoi Hotel in Assam according to RIL chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati on Tuesday, 25th February.

    According to Ambani his company established this seven-star Oberoi Hotel project to enhance Assam's high-quality hotel and hospitality sector.

    Addressing the Advantage Assam 2.0, Ambani said during the previous Advantage Assam summit in 2018 Reliance Industries Ltd made a commitment to invest Rs 5,000 crores in Assam according to Ambani. Our company has made investments worth more than Rs 12,000 crores since the previous commitment in Assam. Reliance will substantially increase its investment in Assam beyond Rs 50,000 crores throughout the next five years in five primary sectors.

    Making Assam both technologically prepared and artificial intelligence prepared stands as our primary objective. Digital modernization in Assam stands as our noble patriotic goal. High-performance computing infrastructure will become operational in our next phase. Ambani established a vision to transform Assam into a leading international and national producer of consumer food items and other non-food products through Reliance's business activities. 

    "Reliance will establish an AI-ready data centre in Assam, which will benefit students with AI-assisted teachers, patients with AI-assisted doctors, agriculture will benefit from AI-assisted farmers, and AI will help Assam's youth to learn from home and earn from home."

    Ambani stated “a Mega Food Park built by us will boost the agricultural and horticultural products extracted from the state of Assam. The company has established a world-class bottling plant in Assam which produces the Campa Cola and Independence range of packaged drinking water products." The company intends to establish 800 Reliance Retail stores in Assam after expanding from its current 400 stores across the following five years.

    According to Ambani the heritage arts and crafts of Assam form a central part of Reliance Foundation's work in the state. Assam ranks as one of the biggest bamboo production areas where people  refer to bamboo as Green Gold while Sualkuchi which represents Assam's famous silk production sector demonstrates substantial job creation potential going forward.

    Reliance Foundation,  and 'Swadesh' stores, would collaborate with the state government to promote this heritage."
