    RG Lyngdoh, former Meghalaya Home Minister, died at the age of 62
    Lyngdoh held two terms as the Laitumkhrah Assembly Constituency's representative between 1998 and 2008.

    Digital Desk: Robert Garnett Lyngdoh, the former Home Minister of Meghalaya, passed away at age 62 on Friday in Nongrim Hills following a protracted illness.
    He was admitted to the Bethany hospital's critical care unit (ICU) on July 11 as a result of a decline in his health.

    RG Lyngdoh is a senior congressman from Meghalaya.

    Lyngdoh held two terms as the Laitumkhrah Assembly Constituency's representative between 1998 and 2008.

    Additionally, Lyngdoh served as Martin Luther Christian University's Vice-Chancellor.
    While serving as Home Minister, he was very outspoken in his opposition to militancy.
    Conrad Sangma, the Chief Minister, expressed sympathy for the late minister.

     "The fearless Shri R. G. Lyngdoh, previous Home Minister of Meghalaya, was a personality we all looked up to," Sangma wrote on Twitter. Bah Robert was a friendly and humorous person who made friends with everyone he met. I was shocked to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences go out to his family and @ampareenlyngdoh.
