    Russian Traveler Intercepted in Kaziranga While Attempting Unauthorized Entry

     A Russian traveller was intercepted near Borbil’s Diflu River in the Kohora range by forest guards and subsequently taken to the Kohra police station


    Digital Desk: In a recent incident that has sparked concern in Kaziranga National Park, a Russian traveller was intercepted by forest guards while attempting an unauthorized entry. The traveller's actions have raised questions about security measures and the preservation of the park's delicate ecosystem. 


    A Russian traveller was intercepted near Borbil’s Diflu River in the Kohora range by forest guards and subsequently taken to the Kohra police station. The tourist was discovered injured, claiming that a rhinoceros had attacked him in the forest area, resulting in his injuries. Following initial treatment by authorities, the traveller was accommodated in a local homestay before being transferred to Shaheed Kamala Miri Hospital for further medical attention. 


    Currently, the individual, Nikita Karbashewsky, is undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Bokakhat, with the assistance of concerned locals.


    The Russian tourist, who was roaming in Kohra while undergoing treatment, arrived at Bokakhat on Thursday and the injured tourist was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Bokakhat by locals.  The Russian tourist with injury marks at various places on his body drew the local’s attention.


    The traveller, who had limited proficiency in English, managed to convey basic information regarding his journey, indicating arrival in Assam via Kolkata on March 22 and reaching Kaziranga National Park on March 24. The traveller expressed interest in exploring the region's wildlife and the Brahmaputra River.


    Meanwhile, forest officials in Kaziranga said he was detained on the morning of March 24 for trying to swim into the dead Diphlu River passing through the border of Borbil village to enter the Kaziranga forest area and handed over to Kanhra police on Sunday.
