Guwahati : Assam Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Cooperation Rihon Daimary on February 5th, 2019, during the Members’ Hour at the Assam State Assembly, said that the Assam government is working to fulfill the target of providing safe drinking water to all the families in the state by 2030.

Safe drinking water in Assam by 2030
Further adding, Minister Rihon Daimary also said that many people across Assam are yet to get safe and clean potable water. In order to provide potable water, the department has taken work under Central and State projects and are working towards taking care of the problem. Work has already started on over 1500 water supply projects of which many of the projects were sanctioned by the previous government.
Safe drinking water by 2030
The present government is taking the initiative to start with the projects sanctioned by the previous government as the projects were stalled for some time due to some reasons. The payments have been made to all contractors who will be undertaking the various projects to be started in Assam in the coming days.
