Guwahatians may have to brace for an acute water supply crisis. A few areas of Guwahati are likely to face severe water shortage in the coming two days.
Areas like Paltan Bazar, South Sarania, Pan Bazar are likely to be hit by an acute shortage of water starting from today, as per reports. The Guwahati Municipal Corporation reportedly will not be able to provide water due to a burst in a pipeline, according to information.
As per reports, a burst pipe is leaking water by lakhs of litres. It is said that a pipeline near Gauhati Club burst following construction activities undertaken by the Public Works Department and is leaking around 2 lakh litres of water for the last few days.
State Minister for Guwahati Development Department Siddhartha Bhattacharya will reportedly review the matter.
