The Chief Minister of Assam launches the CMIPP's Chief Minister's Institutional Plantation Program

    Digital Desk: The Chief
Minister's Institutional Plantation Programme (CMIPP) was introduced on Sunday
at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The
Science, Technology, and Climate Change Department will manage CMIPP from July
17 through August 15, covering more than 80,000 institutional campuses under
    the Government of Assam (GoA).

The Chief Minister also advised all
institutions to change CMIPP into Amrit Briksha Mahotsav by planting 75
saplings (Amrit Briksha) in conjunction with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Notably,
native seedlings will be planted, geotagged, and uploaded on the website before
receiving proper care and monitoring for the following three years under the
    CMIPP.

Additionally, he requested that every six months, drone surveys be
ordered in all reserve forest regions by the state forest agency.

     Additionally,
he instructed the forest department to pursue encroachers with a zero-tolerance
    stance.
