    The closing ceremony at Sankaradeva Kalakshetra marked the end of the Assam Youth Olympics

    The Assam Youth Olympics (AYO) concluded at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati.


    Digital Desk: The Assam Youth Olympics (AYO) concluded today at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in the city. The function's chief guest was Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Union Minister of Ports and Shipping Sarbananda Sonowal and Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur also attended the closing ceremony.


    Although the closing ceremony was originally planned for the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, due to the weather forecast and the possibility of heavy rain, the organisers have decided to hold it at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, and it started at 6 p.m.


    Meanwhile, on the concluding day of the competition, several medals in various events such as athletics, swimming, shooting, and others were decided. 


    At the end of Day V, Guwahati maintained their lead in the medals tally. Guwahati won 111 medals, including 35 gold, 38 silver, and 38 bronze. Kamrup came second with 39 medals, including 14 gold, nine silver, and 16 bronze. Tinsukia maintained third place with 20 medals (11 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze). Jorhat moved up to fourth in the medal count with 27 medals.
