The written examination for Class IV positions will take place on August 7, while the written examination for Class III posts will take place on August 21.
Digital Desk: Assam government’s
recent announcement of 26 thousand posts in Class III and Class IV of various
departments received an overwhelming number of candidates.
According to
reports, a total of 11,92,509 applicants have applied for these posts in Class
III and Class IV.
A total of
6,71,805 candidates had applied for class III posts, while 4,43,655 candidates
had applied for class IV posts. Moreover, another 77,049 candidates had applied
for the post of driver in Class III.
The Assam
government made online registration through the District Employment Exchange
mandatory. However, many applicants were unable to register for the jobs due to
server troubles, with the servers being down most of the time. This has had a
significant impact on candidates from rural areas.
Notably, Assam
has around 22 lakh, unemployed people, according to the Employment and
Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training. Only 11 lakh unemployed
people were able to register online. This means that the remaining 11 lakh
unemployed in the state were unable to apply for these posts. Due to anomalies
in their Aadhar cards, many people were unable to register.
Assam Chief
Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with key officials on Thursday to discuss the
status of the recruitment process for Class III and Class IV positions.
The Chief
Minister stated that the entire recruitment procedure will be
completely transparent. The dates for the next written examination were also
announced. The written examination for Class IV positions will take place on
August 7, while the written examination for Class III posts will take place on
August 21.
