    Two Women Arrested For Robbery Under Ganeshguri Flyover In  Guwahati
    Dispur police conducted an immediate raid and successfully arrested both accused women at approximately 2:00 am
     
    Digital Desk: Two women have been arrested by Dispur Police on charges of allegedly stealing Rs 18,000 from a youth near the Ganeshguri Flyover on Tuesday night.

    The incident took place on 21st  May , 2025, at about 10 PM when Sahil Basfor, age 24 years and son of Hiralal Basfor, a resident of Tinsukia town, was passing under Ganeshguri flyover. Sahil Basfor had come to Guwahati for professional reasons, but was stopped by a woman who held him back. Another woman joined her later, and both attacked him with a knife and threatened him, and snatched INR 18,000 from his hand.

    On the complaint filed by the complainant at Dispur Police Station, a case was registered under Dispur PS Case No. 444/2025 under sections 309(4)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

    Acting promptly on the complaint, the police immediately raided  took action and effectively arrested both accused women around 2:00AM. The whole looted amount of INR18,000 was recovered from their possession.

    The arrested accused have been named as:
    1.Manju Malhotra alias Amina Begum (40 years), of Chayagaon
    2. Janmoni Begum (25 years), of  Mangaldoi

    Police have filed legal cases against the accused. The speedy action of the Dispur Police resulted in the arrest of both the culprits within hours of the crime, giving justice to the victim and recovery of the looted money. Additional investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether the accused were involved in other criminal activities in the region.
