On the 72nd Republic Day in 2021, she received the President's Medal in recognition of her outstanding service.

Digital Desk: On Sunday, July 31, IPS Officer Violet
Baruah, the first female Inspector General (IG) of the Assam Police, announced
    her retirement.

"Today is my last day in police duty as I am
resigning from the service today," Baruah stated on Twitter. I can see now

    along with the message.
