Will the rains subside in NE? Check what the weathermen say

Due to the constant rain, both Assam and Meghalaya experienced 'large excess' rainfall. 

Digital Desk: Northeast India will see no respite from the rain in the coming days, with low to moderate rainfall likely in the coming weeks.

A cyclonic circulation above the Northeast will swamp scattered to fairly widespread rains of light to moderate intensity in Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Mizoram next five days and beyond, according India Meteorological Department (IMD) report.

Manipur and Sikkim had 'excess' rains simultaneously, while Arunachal and Nagaland had 'normal' rains, and Mizoram and Tripura had ' deficit' precipitation.

Arunachal Pradesh will face similar conditions in the coming week, isolated to scattered rainfall. 

Because the likelihood of severe thunderstorms is low, the IMD has not issued a weather advisory. 

It is, however, subject to change depending on the weather in the coming days.

Meanwhile, with a reduction in the severity of rainfall in most parts of the Northeast, Assam's flood situation is also improving marginally.

However, heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides have hit the Barak Valley and North Cachar Hills, damaging them severely; experts believe it will take months for these areas to return to normalcy. 

Similarly, flooding and landslides have also been reported in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland.
