BCCI officials exploring the possibility of organizing second half of IPL 2024 in Dubai: Report

However, this year brings a unique twist as the tournament will unfold in two phases since the Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to take place this year.

Reports from The Times of India suggest a potential shift of the second phase of IPL 2024 to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), echoing the move witnessed in 2014. BCCI officials are reportedly exploring the feasibility of hosting the latter part of the tournament in Dubai, contingent upon the election schedule announcement.

The UAE's familiarity with hosting IPL matches due to previous occurrences, particularly amid the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 and 2021, adds credence to this prospective relocation. Although BCCI sources maintain India as the preferred venue, franchises have taken precautionary measures, including collecting players' passports, anticipating a potential shift.
